meteorologic, seismic and hamradio observatory in Bisenzio' s valley
ValbisenzioMeteo's seismograph has two sensors to 'pendulum', produced by New Electronics. The oscillations are detected by your arm on the base of the instrument and sent to analog-to-digital interface called digitizer (18-bit Sara Electronics - Perugia). The two sensors are oriented in the east-west and north and south and are located below the street level of about 2 meters at a height of about 510 m above sea level. For the vertical movement is on a 4.5-Hz geophone
The interface has the task of converting the electrical impulses from the seismograph information readable by the software (SEISMOWIN) on the computer, which analyzes the signal and converts it into a 'drum' (24 hours a path representative of the seismogram).
In case of earthquake motion, the software detects the arrival of the sampling pulse "special" and initiates a storage of seismograms, to get the data analyzed from the drum. This seismogram is highlighted in red on the drum. Only after a manual analysis of the seismogram we deduce whether the track is really an earthquake or if it is just noise. Analysis of the seismogram is determined by the distance of the epicenter and intensity of the event, then the triangulation with other seismographs is established depth 'and the location of the epicenter.
The thickness of the yellow line and 'due to anthropogenic noise (works, traffico.persone) and meteorological events, and increases in bad weather.
